Hey Ryan, welcome to the CommOps community! We're happy to have you 
aboard here.

We all start somewhere in open source. :) Is this your first time 
contributing to an open source project before? Regardless, the Fedora 
community is incredible and it was the reason I made the decision to get 
involved as a contributor. There's a lot of people here who are happy to 
help get you involved and introduced to the different components of the 
project via CommOps.

If you're open on Tuesdays at 17:00 UTC (12pm US EST), you should check 
the Fedora CommOps meetings on #fedora-meeting. At our meetings, we have 
a chance for new folks to introduce themselves and we power through our 
agendas and get some work done.

Looking forward to seeing you around in Fedora and CommOps, Ryan. If you 
have any questions, never be afraid to ask -- no such thing as a stupid 
question.

If you haven't seen this page already, I highly recommend looking at 
this and following the steps to become an official member of CommOps.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the warm welcome! This is my first time contributing to a project. It is a
little bit overwhelming but I'm working through all of the wiki sections and becoming
accustomed to the facets of CommOps.

I've done most of the tasks required, and will try to get to a meeting soon. The time
difference may be an issue, but I'll see how I go!

Awesome, we are super excited to have Fedora be your first FOSS project 
to get started on! When you look at Fedora in the big picture, it can be 
a little overwhelming, but in smaller pieces, it's much less 
intimidating. :)

If you aren't able to make it to the meetings, I would definitely keep 
an eye on our Trac page, which is what we use for task management. There 
are tickets there that can give you a rough idea of what we're working 
on and what needs help. Give it a look around, see if anything looks 
interesting to you. Either way, hope we can catch you at our Tuesday 
meeting!

I'm slowly getting accustomed to everything now, and you're right, the magnitude
of the project is very intimidating!

Meetings will be tough due to my location and the fact that they fall in the middle of my
working week, but I will keep abreast of the minutes. 

I've been browsing the Trac and asked you on IRC about whether or not you would like
some assistance with ticket #59 - modernizing the Trac Wiki entry. Obviously we can't
all be around on IRC at the same time, but if you would like some help I would like to
"pop my cherry" so to speak on this!

This might perhaps be a larger discussion than is in the scope of this
email, but are we potentially (as a Project) looking at making a
migration to Pagure over from Trac further down the future? Wasn't sure
if this was just an idea, a vision, or maybe both. :)

Vision, or both. :) It's one of the main reasons for Pagure's creation.

Thanks for sharing the link to your blog, Ryan. :) Your article about 
getting started was a great read, and was also pretty familiar in many 
ways. I too began using Fedora for the first around Fedora 20.

Best of luck to you in your own personal endeavors as you pursue your 
goals and ambitions! We're glad to have you aboard here on the CommOps team.

I remember seeing your post on Reddit too and talking with decause about 
how perfect timing it was for us to get CommOps listed on the main 
"Join" page on the wiki. Looking forward to the coming months and beyond!
