Hi all,
VMware ESXi 6.5 and 6.7 have now reached their end of life, so as
previously announced [1], Fedora CoreOS is dropping support for those
versions.
The next Fedora CoreOS releases on the `next` and `testing` streams
will update the VMware OVA image to hardware version 17 [2], and the
following `stable` release will do the same. As a result, creating
virtual machines from an up-to-date OVA will not be possible on ESXi
6.5 and 6.7 without a workaround [3]. Existing virtual machines will
not be affected.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact us in #fedora-coreos on
Libera.Chat or open an issue in the Fedora CoreOS tracker [4].
