I've got a meeting conflict so I won't be able to make it, but, I would like to
contribute this potential talking point on #322 if anyone wants to run with it:
Work with Freenode staff for support on removing persistent, dedicated
trolls
from channels (like happened before in #fedora-diversity)
Historically, while #fedora- channels have been *better than most distro
channels* about this, it has ended up being problematic operators or long term
associates or folks with unexplainable seniority in the channels that end up
fueling those types of issues beyond the occassional "poison dragon".
It is tangential to the discussion point but there really should be discussions
on who is allowed to be an operator and their discretion with overlooking long
time problems or improper enforcement should be taken into consideration on
those as this kind of thing tends to alienate users and create hostile
environments over time. The ivory tower is the worst place to see a troll or
their enabler sitting.
