Description of problem:
In order to attempt to reproduce
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2383156#c23, I invoked a `.blend`,
commenced animation rendering, then logged-out (the equivalent of `qdbus
org.kde.Shutdown /Shutdown org.kde.Shutdown.logout`). Because it remained hung
for ⪆ 10 s, the DE offered to log out regardless of hung applications, since a
simple SIGABRT (or similar; IDK exactly what it sends) didn't work.

Summary: Video Sequencer unusable due to inefficient decoding
of AVI/h264 movie files

Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
I wanted to edit a video in the AVI/h264 format in the Video Sequencer. Upon
loading the file and adding it to the timeline, seeking in the project because
close to impossible, because every jump in the timeline causes a significant
delay. After running with debug logging on, I suspect this is due to the use of
OpenH264 for decoding the video (instead of FFMPEG?). During the duration of
the freeze, I see a lot of decoding-related logs in the debug log.
I am actually surprised that loading a video in the AVI/h264 format is even
possible in the Flatpak build, because the RPM build of does not allow it. When
inspecting more closely the debug logs, it is due to OpenH264 not being able to
create a decoder for the video file upon wanting to load it.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Blender Fedora flatpak (launch from CLI with '-d --debug-all'
2. Open Blender
3. Go to 'Video Editing'
4. Add a AVI/264 video file to the timeline
5. Try to seek
Actual Results:
Seeking in the timeline is extremely choppy and makes the Video Sequence
completely unusable for actual work.
Expected Results:
Smooth seeking in the timeline.

Description of problem:
-Opened default scene, deleted default cube
-Imported .obj from
https://www.models-resource.com/nintendo_64/supersmashbros/model/31789/
-Went into edit mode to delete the faces that made up the ceiling
-Changed to Material preview, materials appeared but shading looked a bit
weird.
-Tried changing to Material preview again, then to solid, then to Material (I
think), materials appeared to become monochrome
-Moved camera into the room and tried to render. Render result appeared briefly
(materials were white) and then crashed.

Blender's FBX export functionality no longer works after upgrading to Fedora
43. When attempting to export to the FBX format, an error popup is shown
instead. This issue doesn't require a specific blender file to happen, it
happens even with just the default unchanged scene. This happens on both of my
machines, both with fresh Blender installations.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Blender
2. Go to File->Export->FBX
3. Click Export FBX
4. Notice the error popup
Actual Results:
A popup displaying a bunch of Python tracebacks is shown.
Expected Results:
Create the FBX file of the 3D model.

When running Blender on Fedora Workstation 43(GNOME, Wayland), the Preferences
window does not open and all menus starting from the File menu are grayed out.
I test flatpak(flathub), occur the issue too. So the issue is not
rpm-specific. On Fluxbox(host) and Fedora KDE Edition(gnome-boxes), the menus
work correctly.
This suggests the problem is related to the GNOME Wayland session rather than
Blender itself.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Blender from Fedora RPM packages or Install blender from flatpak
install com.blender.Blender
2.Run Blender

Actual Results:
The Preferences window does not open.
All menus starting from the File menu are grayed out.

Patch for enabling Blender features.
Description of problem:
Blender in EPEL 9 have disabled all features by default
How reproducible:
Open Blender from EPEL 9 and notice that most of critical features are
disabled, like:
- i18s suppport (selecting languages
- simulations support
- sound support
- import format support
- export images support
- export to video support
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Blender
2. Run Blender
Actual results:
- Language selection is not available,
- fluid simulation is not available,
- import from other formats are not available
- sound is not working
- etc.
Expected results:
- Language selection is available,
- fluid simulation is available,
- import from other formats are available
- sound is working
Additional info:
Previously all features was disabled by default, by using
blender_lite.cmake
It was causing that many important features was disabled, like:
- i18s suppport (selecting languages
- simulations support
- sound support
- import format support
- export images support
- export to video support
With attached patch many features will be enabled, if corresponding library
will be found.
It is the same behaviour like with Fedora Blender package.
I have tested that with RHEL 9, by building and running simulations,
changing interface languages, exporting to movie (with sound), exporting to
Tiff,
making fluid simulation and saving it in OpenVDB format.
