Bug ID: 2535792
Summary: Rebuild blender for OpenVDB 13.1.0 SONAME transition
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Component: blender
Severity: medium
Assignee: luya_tfz(a)thefinalzone.net
Reporter: luya_tfz(a)thefinalzone.net

negativo17(a)gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
OpenVDB 13.1.0 changes its shared-library SONAME:
libopenvdb.so.13.0 -> libopenvdb.so.13.1
blender directly links against the current OpenVDB library and
therefore requires a rebuild.
This rebuild is part of:
Bug 2535782 - OpenVDB 13.1.0 SONAME transition tracker
Source dependency analysis also shows that blender BuildRequires:
OpenImageIO-devel
usd-devel
manifold-devel
For this reason, blender should be rebuilt last in the coordinated
transition.
Please rebuild blender after successful side-tag builds of:
openvdb 13.1.0
OpenImageIO
manifold
usd
The luxcorerender and openvkl rebuilds do not form build-time
prerequisites for blender.
Reproducible: Always
Expected Results:
blender builds successfully against the updated OpenVDB,
OpenImageIO, USD, and Manifold stack.
blender no longer requires:
libopenvdb.so.13.0()(64bit)
and instead requires the new OpenVDB SONAME.
Build stage:
Stage 4

version 1.39.5 and displays the following:
blender: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libusd_ms.so.0.26.3: undefined symbol:

How reproducible:
The error was reproducible on all my devices with fedora 44 kde and I could
also reproduce it on a fresh installed fedora 44 workspace and kde vm
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install blender: sudo dnf install blender
2. Start blender in the terminal -> blender: symbol lookup error:
/lib64/libusd_ms.so.0.26.3: undefined symbol: _ZTIN17MaterialX_v1_39_47ElementE
3. Downgrade materialx to 1.39.4: sudo dnf install materialx-1.39.4
4. Start blender in the terminal -> works again
Actual results:
Expected results:
Additional info:
the update to materialx was merked as a security fix, so an new blender build
that works with materialx-1.39.5 would be nice

Summary: FBX exporter does not work

Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
Blender's FBX export functionality no longer works after upgrading to Fedora
43. When attempting to export to the FBX format, an error popup is shown
instead. This issue doesn't require a specific blender file to happen, it
happens even with just the default unchanged scene. This happens on both of my
machines, both with fresh Blender installations.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Blender
2. Go to File->Export->FBX
3. Click Export FBX
4. Notice the error popup
Actual Results:
A popup displaying a bunch of Python tracebacks is shown.
Expected Results:
Create the FBX file of the 3D model.
