Description of problem:
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
How reproducible: 100% on my system
Steps to Reproduce: 1.upgrade to 1:2.79-1.fc26 2.run blender (from command line to see error) 3.
Actual results: blender: symbol lookup error: blender: undefined symbol: _ZN7openvdb6v4_0_24util11INVALID_IDXE
Expected results: blender runs ;-)
Additional info: my system is x86_64 and has gone through several fedora versions with upgrades rather than reinstalls. grateful for any info (including "works for me") and obvs happy to try things and gather info.

Thanks so much for getting in touch - that was it! I did have openvdb-libs installed but it was 4.0.1. Updated to 4.0.2 and all is now well :-)
I used to do the odd rpm spec file patch years ago - happy to make a patch for this if you like. Not sure if we still do everything with patch files or if we've moved to git and PRs?
