Hi guys,
Here are some mock-ups (incl sources) for different badges the Planet members can use for their hackergotchi.
The idea is that I'll make a template, which can be used in the future for all kinds of events, so not just Google's Summer of Code.
So:
- I want to make them general enough that they can be used for all kinds of events
- I want to make them shiny, so people will want to wear them :D
- I will make the template in such a way that the color and text can be very easily adjusted, also by people who never use Inkscape
- the fact that they can change the text means that the text itself must have enough room and shouldn't have fancy effects (i.e. I wanted to avoid curves and whatnot)
Of course, after I'm done I'll put a tutorial on the wiki describing how people can change the badge, for Inkscape beginners.
By all means, take the source and run with it! Or if you think there's a nice one in here, leave a comment. If nobody has any additional mock-ups or ideas, we could maybe have a vote here on the mailing list. :)
(Personally I kind of like the ribbon from #11. It can be easily adjusted, fits with every picture, has a lot of room for text and is "shiny" enough to signify that there's something special about these people :) )
