liveusb-creator could use some user interface improvements. This was
discussed in a post-meeting chat after the July 20th design meeting.
What improvements are needed and how to incorporate them has yet to be
decided.
I'm opening this ticket as a central place to track discussion on this
topic.

#148: Spelling Bee app UI design

Kishan: "Recently, yevlempy [1] and myself, Kishan [2] decided to write a
desktop application (game) based on the "Spelling Bee" format popular
across the world. Read more about 'spelling bee' here.[3] But, being
a game, it requires to have a nice UI appealing to the target
user-base, in this case, children of 8-16 yrs. [4] would give a proper
underatanding and a somewhat-demo of the kind of app. we are planning
it to be.
And the problem lies herein. Neither of us have any experience regarding
artwork/design and we are not good at it either. I know some
PyGtk and have used the Glade interface designer before. Sitting down
for a couple of hours, I managed to come up with this [5] And, I think
it looks ugly. So we request you guys to guide us on how to go about
this."

#73: F12 Release Events Wiki Page Logo/Layout suggestion
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Reporter: fugolini | Owner: duffy
Type: task | Status: new
Priority: trivial | Component: Interaction Design / Usability
Severity: Quick & Easy | Keywords:

Hi, I know this ticket is composed by 2 sub-tickets.
The first one: is possible to have a logo (like we hae for ambassadors &
famscowiki) for the [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F12_release_events]
wiki page? Or, at least, is possible to have an svg of one of the
mentioned images in order to modify it?
The second question: what is the best way to organize the page (in your
opinion), since a wiki could be less usable than a blank page: Events by
country, by date or randomly? I know the question is odd, but since it
will be the place where people will go to search for their event it would
be helfull to know what is the best way.
Thank you for your attention.

#66: Fedora Insight zikula skin
--------------------------------+-------------------------------------------
Reporter: mchua | Owner: duffy
Type: task | Status: new
Priority: critical | Component: HTML/CSS Work
Severity: Moderately Involved | Keywords:

We need a zikula skin for https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Insight.
The fedora-zikula repository contains a fedora-themed zikula skin design
that may be useful as a starting point: http://git.fedorahosted.org/git
/fedora-zikula
There is no existing design material for Fedora Insight (fonts, color
scheme, logo, etc) so this may need to be split up into smaller tickets to
create those materials first.
We would like to have this go live at Beta time (2009-10-06) which I think
(but am not absolutely sure - what is the usual procedure for getting
design stuff up on infra boxes?) means we need the design before the Beta
freeze (2009-09-22).

#81: Fedora Insight skin: quick image/css fix
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Reporter: mchua | Owner: duffy
Type: task | Status: new
Priority: minor | Component: HTML/CSS Work
Severity: Quick & Easy | Keywords:
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Can we please apply the quick fix for the skin on
https://publictest6.fedoraproject.org/zikula mentioned below (at the start
of the last paragraph - fixing the image and/or the css) since I don't
believe this will impact our ability to do a better, longer-term solution
later?
From Sakis Samaras:
...the images are a bit too slow during first download.
When displaying "block sizes" via "Web Developer " add-on you will find
that a lot of not strictly required div tags are generated. This leads to
a generic slow down since all DIV tags have to be processed by DOM parser
also.
The quick fix may be to fix both the image itself (since the actual image
is a fragment of Fedora Logo that can be re-sized or changed to the
appropriate
https://publictest6.fedoraproject.org/zikula/simonstestimage.jpg ) and/or
the css that indicates that the div size is 80X120px and a -10px top-left
offset the image is 60X100 +10px padding.

#131: Banner needed for F13 one-page release notes
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Reporter: mchua | Owner: nobody
Type: task | Status: new
Priority: critical | Component: Other Artwork
Severity: Quick & Easy | Keywords:
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
We need a banner image for the one page release notes for F13:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F13_one_page_release_notes
The one for F12 looked like this: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/File:F12
-releasenotes-banner.png
Here's how it fit into the page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_12_one_page_release_notes
I am not sure if the svg source for the banner is available somewhere, but
that would probably make this task relatively easy - it would be a matter
of swapping out the central image for another one that represents the
slogan, "Rock It."
We need this, ideally, before May 10th, which is when Ambassadors start
getting briefed with the F13 marketing materials.
