liveusb-creator could use some user interface improvements. This was
discussed in a post-meeting chat after the July 20th design meeting.
What improvements are needed and how to incorporate them has yet to be
decided.
I'm opening this ticket as a central place to track discussion on this
topic.

#148: Spelling Bee app UI design

Kishan: "Recently, yevlempy [1] and myself, Kishan [2] decided to write a
desktop application (game) based on the "Spelling Bee" format popular
across the world. Read more about 'spelling bee' here.[3] But, being
a game, it requires to have a nice UI appealing to the target
user-base, in this case, children of 8-16 yrs. [4] would give a proper
underatanding and a somewhat-demo of the kind of app. we are planning
it to be.
And the problem lies herein. Neither of us have any experience regarding
artwork/design and we are not good at it either. I know some
PyGtk and have used the Glade interface designer before. Sitting down
for a couple of hours, I managed to come up with this [5] And, I think
it looks ugly. So we request you guys to guide us on how to go about
this."

I have had some requests for banners for use in wikis, etc. for
FUDCon:Tempe. Would it be possible to get one (or more, maybe a vertically
oriented one as well?) made for FUDCon?
For more info on FUDCon:Tempe see

#158: Fedora logo for MeeGo UX spin

I discussed this face to face with Mo at FUDCon. We need to remove the
MeeGo branding for what was going to be the MeeGo Netbook spin because we
don't comply with the technical requirements of MeeGo. As a result we need
to replace the MeeGo logo in the top left hand corner of the screen with a
Fedora equivalent (which I personally think is better for Fedora anyway).
The current image from their git is here
http://meego.gitorious.org/meego-netbook-ux/mutter-
meego/blobs/master/data/theme/panel/panel-background.png
We need to replace the "MeeGo" on the left side of the image with the
equivalent Fedora one.

#159: Mailer for Free Media programme

Reporter: ankursinha | Owner: nobody

Priority: major | Component: Other Artwork
Severity: Quick & Easy | Keywords: Free media mailer
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
hello,
Can someone please make a mailer that the free media program could use to
send it's media in? We already have one[1], but it isn't very generic (we
need one that is not region specific).
The outside of the mailer could be the sender's, receiver's address(es)
and fedora logo etc., while the inside could have some info? (like a few
important fedora related links maybe?)

A Fedora user came to me at my LUG meeting, last night, and said that it
was really difficult to quickly determine which architecture a particular
Fedora DVD was from the outside cover. The wording isn't big enough.

The current Lovelock's and Gnome wallpaper blend is a great opportunity to
start this sharing effort for other DEs. Please, provide it for Plasma
Desktop too. Current (Plasma 4.6) theme is Horos, see
http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/4.6.0/kdebase/workspace/wallpapers/Horos/con…,
just a test (with color balancing -

PS: I'll try to be online for today's Design team meeting but it's a very
hard time to catch the meeting :(((

#173: Request for a common Fedora lovelock wallpaper
----------------------------------+-----------------------------------------
Reporter: cwickert | Owner: nobody
Type: other artwork request | Status: new
Priority: major | Component: Other Artwork
Severity: Moderately Involved | Keywords:
----------------------------------+-----------------------------------------
Although the desktop SIG has decided to go with GNOME upstream's wallpaper
for F15, many desktop environments/spins are in need of a Fedora Lovelock
themed wallpaper, ether because their upstream does not provide artwork or
the provided artwork does not meet the quality we want. We also feel that
Fedora spins should have a common visual Fedora branding and fresh artwork
for every Fedora release. The latter is something that only GNOME can
provide because their schedule is pretty much in line with Fedora's and
they have enough designers. Other desktops don't and we ship the same
release of a DE throughout several Fedora releases.
Last but not least we want to show that we appreciate the amazing work the
Fedora design-team has done in the past by giving them the chance to prove
their outstanding skills once more.
Desktops/spins in question:
KDE (to be determined by SIG)
Xfce (definitely)
LXDE (definitely)
Security Spin (which uses LXDE's wallpaper despite claimed otherwise)
