Ask Fedora is a community edited knowledge base, a forum oriented towards
just questions and answers. A test instance is running at
http://ask01.dev.fedoraproject.org:8888/questions/
Upstream css file is at
http://fpaste.org/FdSm/raw/
If anyone is interested, let me know and I can make you a admin for the
test instance and you can experiment with the css via the admin settings
which allows for a custom css file which overrides parts of the default
css file as necessary.
A logo would also be nice since we want to promote this site without the
restrictions associated with the Fedora logo

#119: Request for new system-config-services icon

I would like to ask for a new icon for system-config-services application
to replace old Bluecurve one [1] with an icon better fitting desktop and
current standards. It could re-use icons from gnome-icon-theme, like we
did with anaconda. Program's author is aware of this request [2].

Hey,
we need a European edition of Free Media envelope for the new tool by
FranciscoD.
http://dodoincfedora.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/fedora-freemedia-tool-
version-0-2alpha/
The problem with the current Templet is that it is too big "13.5 cm x 13.5
cm," but I need max. "12.5 cm x 12.5 cm". Otherwise I have to pay more
than 1.45 € for shipping.

I already talked to FranciscoD and he asked me to creat a new ticket.

#217: Mockup for Fedora Packager for Eclipse context menu

Fedora Packager for Eclipse is an Eclipse plug-in which can be thought of
as a GUI for Fedora packaging. Commands are available via the context
menu. With the number of features increasing it is becoming more and more
difficult to come up with a proper design of the context menu. As of now,
the total number of items so far is 12 with 3-6 more in the queue. We
would appreciate help for coming up with a better design/structure.
Perhaps a context menu isn't the right approach, feel free to go wild. We
are open for new and innovative suggestions.
Here is a mock-up of existing functionality including the context menu:
http://jerboaa.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/fedora_packager_0-2_mockup.png
Our user guide is here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Eclipse_Fedora_Packager_User_Guide
What are our current challenges?
* Figure out a way to structure the context menu with 20+ items
* Have a select set of commands directly accessible, others might be
hidden behind an "advanced" element
* Perhaps grouping of menu items could make sense 1. Koji. 2. General. 3.
RPM related commands
Thanks for your help! Let me know if you have questions.

Fedora Packager for Eclipse is a plug-in for Eclipse. Most of the
functionality is accessible via a context menu called "Fedora Packager".
Here is a mock-up which shows (most of the current menu items features).
http://jerboaa.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/fedora_packager_0-2_mockup.png
It would be nice to have icons shown for the most common commands as this
would improve usability. I'm thinking of icons for the following menu
items:
* Push build to Koji
* Perform scratch build
* Perform scratch build using local SRPM
* Bodhi update
* Build for local architecture
* SRPM build
* Mock build
Icons should be 16x16 pixels. Feel free to be creative. Please let me know
if you have questions.

#213: Mockups for Fedora Packager for Eclipse chain-build interaction

Fedora Packager for Eclipse is an Eclipse plugin to make
submitting/maintaining/reviewing packages easier for Eclipse users
(https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Packager_For_Eclipse_User_Guide)
Currently users request builds through a context menu associated with the
GIT repository project for the package but this strategy will not do for
the planned chain-build feature. The user should be able to request a
chain-build of an arbitrary number of packages (although numbers reaching
to far into the double digits would likely be rare) and be able to define
in what order they should be built and what packages should be built in
parallel.
We would like a mockup of a usable interaction for the chain-build
functionality.

#207: Nice high-resolution animations to be run on beamers or big screens

I would like to have some nice high-resolution animations that I can run
during events on beamers or big screens. At the moment, we are only
running the Fedora 16 promotion video and some FUDCon videos. I imagine
something like an animation of which elements the Fedora logo consists and
how they put together. Another animation I could imagine are our
foundations with each coming into the foreground, some animation and going
to the background again or so. At least less text involved and if so, it
should be in english for best re-usability.
It should be possible to run these animations in an endless loop and they
should be high-resolution and runnable on slow devices like a netbook or
similar. So please don't do a HD video. If there is some kind of resource-
saving SVG animation or so, that would be awesome. To give an idea:
Running the Fedora 16 promotion video on an atom-based notebook, it's
completely consuming one CPU (also because of the Intel graphic chipset).
I'm also open to other nice animations :)

Hello. I am currently working on
[https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Scientific_Spin Fedora Scientific] which I
have currently submitted to the spin wrangler for review. I am still
awaiting the status of the review. However I was wondering if I could get
some help from the design team to have a logo for this spin. Its focus is
science & engineering so something on those lines will be very useful.
Kindly let me know any other information that you might need from me.
Thanks!

We are currently writing a prospectus to obtain sponsors for the FUDCon in
Tempe, Arizona.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Tempe_2011_prospectus
We'd like to put the information in a Fedora-branded office document so
that we can have nice .pdfs to send / print out to prospective sponsors.
Would it be possible to get a Fedora OO Document template? :) Not just for
this particular use, but more of a long-term use.
(PS. Not to set things on fire, but we're hoping to procure sponsors
fairly quickly - the faster we get them, the faster we can get all the
details in place for FUDCon!)
