Ask Fedora is a community edited knowledge base, a forum oriented towards
just questions and answers. A test instance is running at
http://ask01.dev.fedoraproject.org:8888/questions/
Upstream css file is at
http://fpaste.org/FdSm/raw/
If anyone is interested, let me know and I can make you a admin for the
test instance and you can experiment with the css via the admin settings
which allows for a custom css file which overrides parts of the default
css file as necessary.
A logo would also be nice since we want to promote this site without the
restrictions associated with the Fedora logo

Hi,
I've been working on a small website which I aim to call "This week in
Fedora". The idea being to visualize what community members are doing
using fedmsg and datagrepper as source of information.
Current version can be found at:
http://ambre.pingoured.fr/thisweekinfedora/
It could use a little more Fedora theme as you can see, so if someone has
ideas please let me know.
Thanks

Hey,
we need a European edition of Free Media envelope for the new tool by
FranciscoD.
http://dodoincfedora.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/fedora-freemedia-tool-
version-0-2alpha/
The problem with the current Templet is that it is too big "13.5 cm x 13.5
cm," but I need max. "12.5 cm x 12.5 cm". Otherwise I have to pay more
than 1.45 € for shipping.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/File:Freemedia-mailer.svgz
I already talked to FranciscoD and he asked me to creat a new ticket.

There is an idea of a Talking points, which are short versions of the
Feature Announcments or Release Notes, suitable for Ambassadors.
See the link here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_19_talking_points
Explanation here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Talking_points_SOP?rd=Talking_Points_SOP
And discussion there:
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/marketing/2013-March/014903.html
I think it could be great to easily produce short and catchy flyers with
this information.
Some thoughts on implementation:
* it should be a template, not a one-time thing
Idealy we shoud be able to just take random text in this form
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Template:Talking_points
then run some script and create a ready-to-print flyer. Thus it would be
easy to translate them or fill with some additional info.
Is it possible? Could we just create a latex file and fill it with text?
* it is release-oriented, thus we probably need a place for the release
banner
But other then that I would vote for more text and less pictures, since
content is important here.
* I see it as a flyer, thing to giveaway. But maybe we need a bigger
poster-size design as well?

We'd love to have someone work with us to improve the interface at this

Fedora Packager for Eclipse is an Eclipse plug-in which can be thought of
as a GUI for Fedora packaging. Commands are available via the context
menu. With the number of features increasing it is becoming more and more
difficult to come up with a proper design of the context menu. As of now,
the total number of items so far is 12 with 3-6 more in the queue. We
would appreciate help for coming up with a better design/structure.
Perhaps a context menu isn't the right approach, feel free to go wild. We
are open for new and innovative suggestions.
Here is a mock-up of existing functionality including the context menu:
http://jerboaa.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/fedora_packager_0-2_mockup.png
Our user guide is here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Eclipse_Fedora_Packager_User_Guide
What are our current challenges?
* Figure out a way to structure the context menu with 20+ items
* Have a select set of commands directly accessible, others might be
hidden behind an "advanced" element
* Perhaps grouping of menu items could make sense 1. Koji. 2. General. 3.
RPM related commands
Thanks for your help! Let me know if you have questions.

Fedora Packager for Eclipse is a plug-in for Eclipse. Most of the
functionality is accessible via a context menu called "Fedora Packager".

It would be nice to have icons shown for the most common commands as this
would improve usability. I'm thinking of icons for the following menu
items:
* Push build to Koji
* Perform scratch build
* Perform scratch build using local SRPM
* Bodhi update
* Build for local architecture
* SRPM build
* Mock build
Icons should be 16x16 pixels. Feel free to be creative. Please let me know

Fedora Packager for Eclipse is an Eclipse plugin to make
submitting/maintaining/reviewing packages easier for Eclipse users
(https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Packager_For_Eclipse_User_Guide)
Currently users request builds through a context menu associated with the
GIT repository project for the package but this strategy will not do for
the planned chain-build feature. The user should be able to request a
chain-build of an arbitrary number of packages (although numbers reaching
to far into the double digits would likely be rare) and be able to define
in what order they should be built and what packages should be built in
parallel.
We would like a mockup of a usable interaction for the chain-build
functionality.

I would like to have some nice high-resolution animations that I can run
during events on beamers or big screens. At the moment, we are only
running the Fedora 16 promotion video and some FUDCon videos. I imagine
something like an animation of which elements the Fedora logo consists and
how they put together. Another animation I could imagine are our
foundations with each coming into the foreground, some animation and going
to the background again or so. At least less text involved and if so, it
should be in english for best re-usability.
It should be possible to run these animations in an endless loop and they
should be high-resolution and runnable on slow devices like a netbook or
similar. So please don't do a HD video. If there is some kind of resource-
saving SVG animation or so, that would be awesome. To give an idea:
Running the Fedora 16 promotion video on an atom-based notebook, it's
completely consuming one CPU (also because of the Intel graphic chipset).
I'm also open to other nice animations :)

#56: Request for multimedia icons
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Reporter: oget | Owner:
Type: icon request | Status: new
Priority: major | Milestone: milestone1
Version: | Keywords:
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Now that the [http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/FedoraStudio
FedoraStudio feature] is [https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/ticket/191
accepted by FESCo] we are in need of new icons.
The Audio&Video/Multimedia desktop menu is being categorized. For each
submenu entry we are requesting new icons. Some are pretty
straightforward, whereas some are more left to imagination.
Currently for the [http://oget.fedorapeople.org/multimedia-menus/ test
package], I borrowed icons from other projects. I will replace these icons
with the ones produced here.
Here is a list of what we need and some explanation:
* Capture&Import icon: This is a general group of applications for
capturing/importing all sorts of media: Audio streams, Video streams,
sound recording with a mic, ripping CD's DVD's, TV broadcasts...
* Creation icon: An icon for the top menu which will contain other media
creation applications listed below. Very open to imagination :)
* Digital processing icon: This group contains audio/video effect
applications. Synthesizer applications. An idea for the icon would be a
foot pedal musicians use (like a distortion pedal).
* Editors icon: Audio editors, video editors, soundfont editors...
Basically, applications that can be use existing data to create some
output.
* Jack icon: JACK (Jack Audio Connection Kit) using applications. These
are wide range applications, primarily used for audio creation. An audio
jack connector (like the one you plug into the electric guitar) is an idea
for the icon.
* MIDI icon: MIDI using applications. Again wide range, but a MIDI
keyboard sounds like an idea.
* Sequencer/Multitrack recorder icon: An icon for the group of multitrack
sequencers, digital audio workstations.
* Notation icon: Icon for the group of musical notation applications.
* Mixer icon: Group of software mixers. Like pulseaudio control, kmix,
gnome mixer...
* Output generation icon: Very wide range and quite open to imagination.
The applications that are covered by this group are audio/video streamers,
format changers, CD/DVD burners, subtitle editors. In terms of
functionality, this one is kind of opposite to the "Capture&Import" group.
* Tools icon: Helper applications that usually do not do anything with
multimedia data. Such as instrument tuner, metronome...
* Player icon: An icon for audio/video players group.
This makes 12 icons. I know it is a long list but is there a chance we can
have these by F-12?
Very many thanks!

For use as:

(b) If a portion of the wallpaper could be condensed somehow to be

with the sky becoming gradient towards white - for use for Cloud SIG

Following Logo Usage Guidelines, I submitted this ticket to get that logo

want to have different designs, just the original ones (4 foundation, and
different types of Fedora logos) translated and re-edited that fits into
the original designs. If it's possible, then please add some mug-, pin-,

hungarian? 4F is: "Szabadság. Barátok. Képességek. Elsőként."

Hi all,
We need a t-shirt design for the attendee t-shirt for the new Flock
Conference -- http://flocktofedora.org/
In this Brainstorm ticket, we are looking for people to submit quick
designs and ideas for the flock t-shirt. (Please, no commentary on designs
yet).
Please use this template as a base -- http://openclipart.org/detail/12463
-- and attach a PNG of your design to this ticket. PLease also comment in
this ticket, including your image inline.
For the t-shirt design, we have a few simple requirements:
* We are able to produce a two sided t-shirt design
* Keep colours in your designs to a minimum (think 3,4,5 colour designs)
* We need some space reserved for sponsor logos (no need to put the logos
in yet, just leave a space for it)
* We also need to incorporate the Fedora and Flock logo
We need to have the Design finalised by July 1 2013.

#260: Fedora Jam Audio spin icons and theme

At the moment the fedora jam audio spin has packaged a rather uninspiring
theme based on the Sperical Cow KDE theme.
We would really like to replac the sdtandard KDE icons in the splash
screen with something more audio related. It would also be very nice to
have a custom wallpaper that is more audio related.
You can find the current screenshots on this page here:

#275: Create installation 'Ad banners' for Fedora 19

Adam Williamson pointed out that some of the current 'Ad Banners' included
in Fedora 19 installation are too "funny" and does not suit Fedora as a
real OS (even it's Fedora ;-).
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=974711
It would be great to provide such banners in coordination with Marketing
team.
There is also a question if Design team thinks it should be blocker
(providing a new artwork or removing at least hal one) or Freeze Exception
to provide new artwork would be enough.

Fedora 19 will have a new Spin ISO, MATE-Compiz. Beta is already out and
we need for the new spin pages [1], banners and screenshots to fill the
pages.\\
There would be:
* Large banner on the top of the spin page, for example
http://spins.fedoraproject.org/static/images/spin/xfce-tagline.png
* Small banner as the ones you see on the right of the main spins.fp.o
page, i.e. http://spins.fedoraproject.org/static/images/spin/lxde-
feature.png
* Screenshots for the MATE-Compiz pages. We used to have two small
screenshots, which becomes larger when clicking on them, so there are 4
screenshots.
See webticket #204 [2] for more information. F19 GA release is July 2nd ;)

#268: Design banners to advertise Spins, Fedora, secondary arch, Cloud.. For
websites

Hi, that would be nice to advertise other Fedora release.
The idea is to display a banner at random instead of the static one on the
right side "There is more fedora" from there:
https://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora
We should instead link the new banner to the corresponding tab at
http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options (cloud, arch, secondary
arch, spins).
Any brillant idea?
