#281: Fedora presentation template in screen 16:9 and 16:10 formats ----------------------------------+--------------------------- Reporter: pfrields | Owner: nobody Type: task | Status: new Priority: minor | Component: Other Artwork Severity: Moderately Involved | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: ----------------------------------+--------------------------- The beautiful standard Fedora presentation template located here is only available in 4:3 screen format:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Presentations/Template
However, all laptops and projectors nowaday support 16:9 or 16:10 format, and have done so for many years. Most do it natively. We could make great use of that extra screen space in presentations if we had templates for 16:9 and 16:10.
I'm calling this "Moderately Involved" severity because I have no idea how much alignment work would be needed here -- it might be quite easy! The priority is clearly "minor" because, well, no one's complained yet in 5 years. :-)

This is my fault, so I'll fix it. :)

Comment (by ryanlerch):
I think that for the sake of simplifying maintaining these templates, and so make it simpler for people to choose the download, that we only supply a 16:10 widescreen version, and the 4:3.
The letterboxing on using the 16:10 on a 16:9 screen is trivial enough to just supply one widescreen template (IMHO)

Comment:
As it turned out, I had done most of the work for this a while ago, and forgot. So, I went ahead and finished it up. The widescreen deck is attached here, and the wiki is updated to link to it.
