* What's your deadline (could be date, could be Fedora release milestone)
* There is no set deadline on when this has to be done, but sooner than
later is always preferred.
* Maybe a good tentative deadline is by the Fedora 24 release, when we
will have a large influx of traffic to the subreddit?
* Who's the developer writing the code (IRC nick + email + wiki profile
page URL)
* Not decided.
* I'm submitting this ticket because I noticed /u/ryanlerch sent modmail
to the moderators of /r/Fedora many months ago about possibly pursuing
this as a project. Depending on his availability, he might be interested
to take this on.
* If you can, please provide us with example URLs of web designs that are
similar to the result you're looking for
* Good examples are many other common Linux subreddits. The /r/Ubuntu
subreddit is a good example of what is possible, and a few others are
linked below.
*
https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubuntu/
*
https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/ (I personally love the design of
this subreddit)
*
https://www.reddit.com/r/GetMotivated/ (another modern + flat UI)
* What type of web project is this?
* As far as I know, customizing a subreddit is all CSS, confirmation
needed.
* Wireframes or mockups for a website / web application
* None at the moment…
* Is this for a new or existing site (if existing, provide URL)? Do you
need CSS/HTML for the design?
* Existing.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fedora/
* CSS.
* Information design diagrams and flow charts for planning or reorganizing
a web site / app
* N/A
* Provide a link to the theming documentation if available
*
https://www.reddit.com/wiki/styling
*
https://howtoreddit.wordpress.com/subreddits/create-your-own
/customizing-your-subreddit/ (unofficial)
* Other information
* I was recently promoted as a subreddit moderator by ianweller (the only
other active moderator on the subreddit). To gain privileges to actually
editing the stylesheets for the subreddit, either one of us could promote
a member of the Design Team as a moderator of /r/Fedora to deploy the
changes.
* I think this would be an awesome project for us to pursue, although it
is worth noting that our subreddit is an '''unofficial''' Fedora
site,
similar to the Fedora Forums. However, it is a well-trafficked site
representing our project, and having an attractive and modern design can
help positively represent Fedora among current and potential users looking
to learn more about Fedora, ask questions, or anything else regarding
Fedora.
