For a long time we've needed a standard (orset of) slide deck template for
folks making presentations about Fedora. Would be nice to have some simple
diagram templates in Inkscape as well that presenters can modify to their
needs.
We have some templates from Tatica and Jayme attached.
Your mission, should you choose to accept this ticket, would involve:
1) Taking the slide tempate Jayme made, and making it more generic for
Fedora. (Right now it is specific to Fedora Brasil. It needs to be a
general design for all of Fedora, so any references to the Fedora Brasil
project should be removed or at least be optional.)
2) Sending out a survey to the Fedora ambassadors list to ask Fedora
ambassadors for ideas of what they'd like to see in a general Fedora slide
deck, and note those suggestions. Also ask the ambassadors (and anybody in
the Fedora community, really) for copies of really good Fedora slidedecks
than could be borrowed from.
3) Using what you learned from #1 and #2, create a general Fedora slide
template for
OpenOffice.org. It should be ODP format. (Open Document
Presentation.)
4) Write a message to the Fedora design team list (design-
team(a)lists.fedoraproject.org) for feedback on your slide deck.
5) Advertise the new slide deck! Write a blog post to announce the slide
deck on Planet Fedora, and find a good place to store it on the wiki so
it's easily findable for people looking for a slide deck. (Make sure if
you search for 'slides', 'slide template', 'presentation',
'Fedora slides'
and such terms on the wiki that it is findable.)
6) (potentially) Talk to the
openoffice.org maintainer for Fedora (you can
look this up by searching for
openoffice.org on Fedora community -
http://admin.fedoraproject.org/community) to see if the slide template can
be packaged in Fedora.
