We're planning to release it in Czech first as a pilot and if we get good feedback from users we will translate it to English and make it a world- wide effort.

We're finishing the content and we have a guy who will do typography, but we'd like to ask for some attractive cover design. The guide will have the A5 format and around 20 pages.

Hi, I've got a couple of notes:

We'd like to avoid the term "Linux distribution". I think it's not the kind of thing we should put in front of newbies. First they don't understand the term, second I remember when I started with Linux "distribution" always felt strange to me. I understood distribution from other fields as an act of distributing, not a product. I would change it to "Seznámení a první kroky v operačním systému Fedora".

For the design part, I asked jimmac for his opinion. He primarily thinks that Comfortaa font is not the best readable font for titles. He proposes some "soulless" font such as open sans. He also thinks that the subtitle is too large and it should be smaller. He also says it lacks whitespace (probably in connection with the large (sub)title, that it deserves more whitespace around).

So, here I've changed the font and the positioning of the title, but while the positioning looks ok to me, I'm not fond of changing Comfortaa to something else. Also added the back cover.

Hi, a few comments:

* the feedback from others is that we should add Linux to the text on the top, so: "Seznámení a první kroky v linuxovém operačním systému Fedora" * that text is also not vertically centered in the blue bar * I like the version with "soulless" font for the subtitle more, I'd keep it. * the Fedora logo should probably be placed a bit higher. It's IMO too close to the subtitle and too far from the upper end of the white space.

Okay, so fixed the text. And it is aligned, really ;) Cant move the logo too much to the top due to logo guidelines.

Hey, Comfortaa is an official Fedora font, but as of late we have been replacing it with Montserrat (although we haven't formally added Montserrat to the branding guidelines yet.) As the owner of the Fedora branding guidelines, I would very much prefer that we use Montserrat instead of Open Sans if a less stylized font is desired.

Here's the pdf, bleed is set to 2 mm. Hopefully it all converted nicely to CMYK. Let me know if there's need of a book backbone.
