I there a way to test new GIMP 2.7/2.8 in Fedora? I looked in Rawhide repos and I still see only 2.6x versions there. Hi Design Friends, In the last email I was inspired by the project name Laughlin and the phrase ' The whole is more than the sum of its parts.' I saw this as an opportunity to push the visual concept of cut and paste. Replication of the same simple shape to make a very complex design. How far can you push it. Something as simple as a line can be pushed pretty far. Design team IRC meetings?

Hi folks, I know in the past we've talked about having regular meetings before but timezones have been a bit of an issue. I was wondering if we could revisit this and consider weekly or bi-weekly meetings? We could simply check in with each other, talk about what projects we've been working on, and maybe go through open ticket items in our trac queue [1]. What do you think? I started a time slot grid at whenisgood.net - would you mind checking off the times you could make? If you set the local time dropdown at the top center of the page it should automagically readjust everything to your local time: http://whenisgood.net/fedoradesign If we can't find enough times for everybody to meet, maybe we could alternate meeting times so everyone can at least come to one? It wouldn't be a requirement for everyone to come to the meetings, but I think it would be good to have set times we chat together in IRC. Over the past few weeks we've been having some good discussions in #fedora-design but it's been ad-hoc - I'd love to see it become a more regular thing. What do you think? ~m

Hi my fellow fedora art team, My name is Norfaisal Ismail and I am from Malaysia. Since using fedora around July last year, I think I am also responsible to spread out this Free Software idea to my colleagues and friends here in my hometown. So, just talking around would not much impact the public but with some initiative like t-shirt, key-chains, stickers for note/netbook would easily make public feel like to ask back about this blue color logo with infinity blended with f character and what is it all about. So, the main idea to join fedora art is to share and give ideas so that the designs, arts and outlook of fedora will gives more meaning to the user and future user. My designing skill is not that up to expert level, previously I had done some designs for T-shirt, caps, brochures and banners for local government agencies and small medium enterprises. I hope I can learn more with you guys here and ready to be tested. Thank you. Introduction

Hello Design Team! My name is Daniel Berryhill and I'd like to start contributing to Fedora in some small way. I owe a lot to this humble platform and I feel it's time I gave back to the community. I cut my teeth on the Gimp many years ago when I switched to Linux (after Windows slowly killed my laptop). I am a very skilled photo/image editor and have recently learned how to use that other Adobe program as well. I am familiar with Inkscape, but not to the same degree (something I'm working on right now :). I have some design experience including button designs, web graphics and logo creation. My programming skills are very rudimentary; I am proficient in HTML (though I am still in the process of wrapping my head around CSS) and I have a very basic understanding of Java. Anyways, all that is to say that I'm very excited to contribute in any way. I know I can handle some of the “Quick & Easy” projects in the Design Service Queue, but I admit I'm mostly here to absorb what I can of this groups general knowledge and hopefully become a better contributor further down the road. Inspiration for FUDCon Zurich Shirt Design
