Subject: Add Vietnamese language to Fedora 15 Release Counter
At the present I'm translating fedoraproject-org-f15-beta to
Vietnamese. I translated the string "Fedora 15 Lovelock released in %s
days!". Is it the string needed for Fedora 15 Release Counter? If it
is, could you please add Vietnamese language to the counter? Please
tell me if there are more works to do, I will be focus on translating
for the counter first.

Off to make the wiki page :) Thanks for nudging us Max!
I hope that someone else from Design team could join us.

Thanks for the positive reacitons so far! :)
I've sent the package for review, here is the link:

I was kind of hoping that someone would say that. :)

This is 100% agreed.
I have no idea why Fedora 15 misses any Fedora branding at the moment,
but we definitely shouldn't let it be released this way. As it is now, F15
doesn't feel like being Fedora at all.
(I'm not sure why the desktop team decided this way.)
F15 hasn't been finished yet (when the heck are we supposed to select
the supplemental wallpapers, we're way past the deadline...) and name
for F16 has been announced already which means that our work on new
artwork starts as well. I prepared the wiki pages as usual. All of them
can be accessed via F16_Artwork category .
I also went ahead and submitted first wallpaper concept --
steampunk/gears . Yes, the time hath come when this concept shall be
revived and we hone it to perfectness. As I outlined in the submission
page , Verne and steampunk just cannot be separated ;-) Also, I don't
recall from the top of my head all who worked on that concept but Mo
and Nicu so if you were working on it go ahead and add your name there.
Dear Design Team,
I've been a user of Fedora 15 for two weeks now and I'm impressed. However I was very much missing any Fedora branding from Gnome shell.
So I decided to look into creating Gnome shell extensions and I created a small extension that adds a Fedora logo to the Activities button.
The advantage of this extension is that it will work together with any theme, always displaying the glorious Fedora logo. :)
I also packaged it. I will submit the package for review tomorrow, but until then the source and the rpm can be found here: http://sources.venemo.net/
In order to use it, you will need to:
1. Get the RPM:
- Install the fedora-logo-gnome-shell-extension-1.0.0-1.fc15.noarch.rpm package
OR if you don't want to install a random rpm from a random guy on the internet, the source tarball is also there:
- Get the tarball, and extract the contents to ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/fedoralogo(a)fedoraproject.org/
2. Reload the shell: press Alt+F2, type r and press enter
I would appreciate any feedback about this idea. Eg. does the icon fit well in there, is this the right icon to use, etc.
Thanks in advance! :)
So, the beta readiness meeting is this week, and since Mo is on her
honeymoon, we need someone else to represent! :) I don't mind doing it
if no one else wants to, but due to lots and lots of travel and other
busyness I'm not really current on what is/isn't ready for beta. So, it
might be better for someone more informed to do it. Anyway, if anyone
does want to do the meeting, please just claim it, otherwise I'll do it
and just get the info off the wiki. :)
