Graffiti Wallpaper
by Ryan Gauger
Hi, all!
I have created two more wallpapers I think look very cool. I was messing
around with some cool extensions in Pinta, and found out how to do this.
You will like the effect it gives off. My dad says he could see this as
being one of the packaged wallpapers in Fedora 16. Thanks!

by Ryan Gauger
Hi, all!
It's me again. This is the same wallpaper, but with a "twist" effect on
the circles. I certainly hope you'll like it! Please be sure to give me
critism on the wallpapers I have already posted and the ones that I post
in the future by replying to this email. Have a great day everyone!

Fedora Wallpaper 16 Concept
by Ryan Gauger
Hi, all!
This is my first ever Fedora wallpaper. I have created it in Pinta
(Paint.NET in Windows). I hope everyone likes it. It is really a
rough-draft, so it is not yet finished. Thanks, design team!

Introduction to Mailing List
by Ryan Gauger
Design Team,
Hello. My name is Ryan. The reason that I want to help contribute
artwork to the Fedora Project is because I like artwork (computer
themes, wallpapers, etc.) I like to make computer wallpapers in both
professional programs and programs like Paint.NET (Pinta in Linux). I
like making wallpapers more than actual themes because I don't like CSS.
I do know a little about CSS and XML, but not a lot. I think it is too
confusing. I hope to contribute computer wallpapers to this mailing
list, hoping that they will be seen by the administrator for this list.
I have read and understand the terms and conditions listed in the
guidelines section of the artwork contributor page. If you read this
email and accept me as a contributor, I will spend a lot of time
perfecting the wallpapers I make. I have also seen past Fedora release
wallpapers, so I have an understanding of what they should look like.
I have worked with both Ubuntu and Linux Mint, and have contributed
wallpapers in both of those areas. Now, I want to move on to actually
contributing them to the operating system, not optionally downloadable
Online. I will have a good time creating these wallpapers and desktop
backgrounds.
Thank you very much,
Ryan

Design Hackfest and workshops at FUDcon Blacksburg
by María Leandro
Hello Pandas, Ninjas, Aliens and Designers
Next FUDcon NA will be held at Blacksburg Virginia, on January 13-15 next
year. The owner of this event, Ben Williams, has some awesome ideas and I
think we could give some great feedback. Lets take a look:
==== Friday Hackfest Sessions ====
- - - Ideas - - -
* Design tools
* Gimp Hackfest:
* Inkscape Hackfest: Do posters or marketing stuffs for a event (can be
help other FUDcons, FAD or local events)
* Blender Hackfest: Maybe do a 3D map (since is easier) or a simple spot
(video)
* Particular Projects
==== Saturday Barcamp ====
- - - Ideas - - -
* Brainstorm of ideas for F17 Wallpaper (maybe just a quick talk with
everyone involved giving feedback)
* How to organize a design schedule for an event
* Complete list of Design Items needed for an event
==== Sunday F17 Hackfest. ====
- - - Ideas - - -
* Concept Development
* Sketches
Now comes the interesting part, Ben would like us to have a pre-schedule for
hackfest and barcamps, so he can send some flyers to local schools and
universities (maybe one call 2 months before, another one 1 months before,
and a third one a couple of weeks before) so people is fully aware of this
activities coming.
I add a couple of ideas, but I would like to have some feedback from all the
team... so go crazy and add whatever you would like to see in each of this
days and also ways to make people happier with the results. One of the
things I would like to ask you to keep in mind is that we need to focus more
on "train to recruit"; we know that as team, we need tons of help, but we
also need to think "where" do we need that help since the most common
question is "how can I help".
See ya!

Team Meeting Time
by Máirín Duffy
Hi,
Elad asked if we could move the meeting earlier so it's easier for him
to attend. We do have a lot of new contributors so I think it makes
sense to think about what meeting times might be better. So I created is
a WhenIsGood URL for us to figure out what meeting times work. If you
regularly attend meetings or would like to regularly attend meetings,
would you mind taking some time to fill this out?
http://whenisgood.net/fedoradesignteam
If you don't intend to attend meetings it's okay to skip filling this
out.
Thanks,
~m
