My name is Judah, but you can call me Velocity if you'd like.
I've recently got into Fedora, but I've been with Linux for 5-6 years (I moved from Manjaro to Silverblue).
Some of my interests are (obviously) computing, music & composition, programming, and design.
I'm really excited about Fedora's mission and would love to give back to the project. So I decided that I was going to find a way.
Since I really like design, I've decided that the design team is probably the place for me.
I'm great at branding and marketing, but I'm lacking in my artistic design skills.
If you would like access to my portfolio, just send me a DM on matrix (@velocity:fedora.im).
Hopefully I'll be a great addition to the team.
See you around,
I'm working on a chatbot to help with Fedora Magazine meetings. One of the things the bot will do is post the agreed publication schedule to discussion.fp.o. The bot will have its own FAS account (zinebot) that it will use to update the forum. I would like some sort of caricature to associate with the bot's account. I expect this image will be seen most frequently as the user thumbnail image on discussion.fp.o. What I have in mind is something similar to or perhaps derived from the "Extra! Extra!" badge that people get when they write for Fedora Magazine (https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/extra%21--extra%21).
I've recently set up a new repo on pagure.io for tracking Fedora Magazine articles because teams.fp.o is going to be taken down in December. We've also started using Matrix for the weekly Fedora Magazine meetings. When I post a link to pagure.io in Matrix, it is currently showing a generic icon/logo. I'd like to use the Fedora Magazine logo, but I need a square aspect ratio. Would it be OK if I used just the ribbon part of the logo without the text on the new pagure.io repo (https://pagure.io/fedora-magazine-newsroom)?
