Hello! My name is Vlad Iamandi and I'm a Fedora Workstation user. I enjoy using the GNOME version since it reminds me of the beautiful Unity environment that was once used by Ubuntu Desktop. I'm not good enough to become a contributor, but I like pictures and illustrations, I spend time browsing Unsplash and this way I got to know some talented illustrators. I wanted to have a picture, taken perpendicular to the ground by a drone, turned into a beautiful illustration that could also work as a computer background. So I commissioned the great team at Graficon Stuff to do just that, but since I also wanted to contribute somehow to Fedora, I asked them to use as many colors from the Fedora Brand Guidelines color palette as possible, and make two versions, a light one and a dark one. You can view the final results in my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gGH_EOWHAz0qNQNLfl-JnME2bc63s0No The wallpapers are done in an 8K resolution and PNG format, but the SVG files are there as well, so feel free to play with them. Maybe if it's good enough, you'll use the set in a future release of Workstation. F45 wallpapers

Morning, Adam. Not sure if this is helpful, but whilst attempting to load/view the new wallpapers, they actually crashed GIMP. See bug report here. [Bug 2506335] New: GIMP crashed with a fatal error: fatal error: Segmentation fault The new GIMP is slow and labored, but this is the first time I've seen it crash hard. Dan

f45-backgrounds available

The *f45-backgrounds* package [1] is now available in Rawhide, ready for the Fedora 45 release. One of the most notable changes is that the *“Time of Day”* animated wallpaper has been split out of the GNOME and MATE background packages into dedicated sub-packages: * *f45-backgrounds-gnome-time-of-day* * *f45-backgrounds-mate-time-of-day* This change provides a cleaner and more consistent wallpaper selection experience in the *Appearance* section of Fedora Workstation and its derivatives, while making the optional animated wallpapers available only to users who want them. To enable the feature, simply install the appropriate *Time of Day* package for your desktop environment. Additionally, as a reminder, the default Fedora 45 wallpaper includes *wide-gamut color support*, delivering richer and more accurate colors on displays that support wide color gamuts. Hello, I'll start by introducing myself to everyone on the list (and especially people fully in the team): My name (online) is Nik, I'm 16, fairly passionate about photography, and more passionate about technology (mostly retro, but some modern aspects too). My favorite Desktop Environment is KDE Plasma, but I'm open to suggestions (except for GNOME). Preferred languages: English, Polish. Now for the main goal of me talking here: I believe that my photos are a good fit for Fedora (since a good chunk of the wallpapers available in Fedora are nature themed (eg. Path by Risto Saukonpää or Fallen Leaf by Martin Klapetek), and I'd love to add to that.
