During my break I also made this draft wallpaper design, https://i.imgur.com/umD1Qsa.jpg. I quite like it's simplicity, but it reminds me of F24's default wallpaper a bit too much. I'll stick to the illustrative design.
I think it's too plain, it needs more oomph. I like that you made the waveform circular. Can you push it more? Rather than a solid thin line on a relatively flat background, can you create more visual interest, and somehow connect it to a deeper idea?
For example, from the pinboard: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/69383650490468032/ This one makes the wave forms look as though they are composed of particles, there's a lot of motion and life to them
http://realitat.com/microsonic/ This artist extruded and 3-D printed wave forms from songs in a circle not unlike yours. Can you maybe extrude the wave in Blender?
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/69383650490467965/ This one converted the sound wave to a bar chart and gave the bar an illustrative style. Can you try a treatment that is atypical for a sound wave (like this kind of illustrative style) and come up with a compelling visual?
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/69383650490467902/ This one has the waves layered in different gradients - can you play with layering?
Hope this helps, ~m
