Hi Somya!

I'm delighted to have you join us, you are quite welcome here!

We have a page that outlines the steps for joining the team here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_Design_Team#How_to_Join

One of the things you might notice there is that we have video chat meetups every other week - I pointed this out to both Merrin and Fred but wanted to call it out to you too. This is a good way to meet us, get feedback, ideas, and general inspiration! The details are here:

I am currently looking at updating the the default apache page for Fedora. This is the page that shows up when you first install an Apache (and I think nginx) server on Fedora. Usually it's visible to the person testing the server when they first set it up, and it quickly gets replaced with whatever the server is for - but sometimes if the server has an outage it shows up to the general public internet. (This is what it looks like now - I don't think it's been updated since 2006!!! https://pagure.io/design/issue/raw/files/38f013cbdfd8c847da7c9cc89118647a4a5226d74435be10a3e8c9920439a5e2-Screenshot_from_2021-02-09_13-00-14.png )

We need to update it because we are going to be rolling out a new version of the Fedora logo. So this is something that we'll be including in Fedora 34. The deadline is a little tight, I would hope to have something by the end of this week if not the next. It's a single HTML file with embedded CSS in it, and it includes both the Fedora logo and an Apache logo.

Does this sound like something interesting you'd like to work on? If so I can create a ticket for it and upload all the assets and the mockup I've been working on. I did something quick and dirty but ran into some issues (something with the CSS box model I think, I can detail in the ticket) and I'd bet you might have the chops to figure it out.

Let me know. If this doesn't appeal to you, we're happy to help you find something else!

Cheers,
~m
