I know the issue with slow. On my 2007 all in one, if I had every layer
visible and changed something, Inkscape would actually freeze. That's one
reason everything I did took so long. I'd get an hour's worth of work done,
forget to save (I know, shame on me), view all layers to see what it looks
like, and all I have to do is accidentally forget to hide a layer and nudge
something to loose it all. Opacity changes also had to be done with the
layer hidden.

Hey,
I really think this is the strongest candidate and I want to try to get
something packaged for Alpha if possible. (It may be too late at this
point.)
I played around with this (although it took hours - was painful, for some
reason inkscape rendering was *extremely* slow, probably all of the nodes
on the trees, so I had to rebuild it in pieces into a new file) and came up
with this after some Gimping -

I'm going to ask Luya to package this unless there are any objections?
