Have you considered the open-source alternatives to the propriety software you use. Fedora is open-source and the Fedora designers encourage the use of open-source tools in their projects
I come from a background of CorelSuite, Photoshop, Autodesk; but I'm proud to tell you I'm very happy and comfortable with their open-source alternatives. You should try them too
