I'd have used a serif font here, the rounded sans-serif feels really
over modern compared to the theme.

BTW this mosaic always felt more “true” than the others, the tesselae
are nicely irregular and not geometric plates tiled in lines (which is
never the case in actual mosaics). If the dove is too simple as motif
for a complete background, did anyone consider applying this kind of
effect to one of the other themes posted so far? (I feel the four horses
would be good candidates, but I'm no artist)

I like this so much... and the Roman numerals are a brilliant touch, 
awesome!

However, considering the clear background (as opposes to the version we 
talked about on IRC), I think now the text can safely be dark blue.

Thanks.
I changed the text to the fedora blue, and moved it to serif style (not sure 
which particular typeface is most appropreate). Refresh for new versions.

The serif text is clearly better.
Now I wonder, maybe is better to write "FEDORA" in all caps, it may be 
hated on the internet, but AFAIK, this is the way Romans used to write.
