Hello everyone,

My name is Stefan. I am a photographer by education and by trade. I am currently working
in the automotive industry, where I mainly deal with AOI and optics-related processes. I
have experience in creating image-based designs for posters, tickets, catalogs, brochures,
etc. I work with several commercials agencies where outsourcing projects for theater
stages and troupes in Sofia / Bulgaria.
In my spare time, I like to struggle in my darkroom, reproduce images by hand and try
alternative photographic processes. Sometimes I try to mimic them in a digital
environment.
A big fan of Fedora and the open-source movement. I have been using GNU/Linux as a daily
driver since 2004. I attempt to use open-source software in my work (Darktable, GIMP,
Inkscape) if this is possible. I have no experience in open-source projects and I would be
very pleased if I had a chance to acquire it here.

Welcome! That sounds really interesting. What are the alt processes you
enjoy the most?

Chrysotype but only for my birthdays or when my wife loves me. Is an expensive and
difficult process. I usually experiment with cyanotype or oilprints. Cameraless
photography is an interesting field for new horizons.

We are currently working on the Fedora 35 default desktop wallpaper and 
I am wondering if you might have some fresh ideas. The ticket that

One of the concepts we've been exploring is visualizing weightlessness, 
as our inspiration Mae Jemison studied the effects of weightlessness on 
the human body. One idea that I attempted to execute (poorly) on was 
trying to capture dye floating in liquid to depict weightlessness:

Such pictures are challenging. I am amazed by the results you have achieved. I will try to
take a few shots at home too. If you choose to explorer this direction and high-resolution
images with more detail are needed, I have access to studio equipment. 

What do you think about the combination of photography and CGI?
