Will gsettings eventually be able to modify lists?
by Bruno Wolff III
It would be nice to use gsettings to add or remove an item from the
favorite-apps key without having to read the old list, parse it with
something, pass a modified list back to gsettings to replace the old
value.
Is there any plan for gsettings to get a feature to do this in one step?

Fedora 15 Questions
by Barry Fishman
I have been running Fedora 15 for a few weeks. I had not used Fedora
for a long time, and have some questions about what is going
on.
1) When I reboot the system the ntpd, httpd, and sshd daemons are not
running. I can start them easily by running the scripts in the
/etc/init.d directory. I understand that systemd is being used and
these scripts are probably not generally used. How to it get systemd to
include these processes at startup.
2) I can see using 'netstat -lt' that I have listening ports for
these servers (once I started them) as Foreign Address *:*. I can
access them locally, but I can not connect to them from my local
network. At first I thought it had something to do with SELinux,
but I am running it in permissive mode.
3) SELinux spits out all kinds of strange denied access messages like
(looking in the audit.log) like login wanting to execute /bin/bash. I
had to put SELinux in permissive mode in order to even login. I tried
shutting it off, but then I could not even boot the system. What is
going on? The only odd thing about my system that I can think of is
that the timestamps have gotten out of wack due to ntpd not starting up
and my clock drifting into way in the future.
Thank you.

Update notification period change
by Adam Williamson
Hey, folks. So, just wanted to kick off a discussion regarding this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=688305
The default update notification period has been changed for GNOME in F15
from 1 day to 1 week (security updates still get notifications
immediately). This is a change that's come from upstream, the GNOME
design team, who consider it a UI design issue. QA and FPL think this is
at least partly a distro policy issue as well as / more than a UI design
issue, and think we should consider whether we actually want to make
this change for Fedora, and if so whether we should have a different
update period for the pre-release cycle. QA certainly feels that 1 day
is more appropriate than 1 week during pre-release time.
We chatted a bit about this during the blocker review meeting today, but
all agreed this would be a more appropriate venue for discussion, so I
wanted to kick off a thread. :) Thoughts?

Hotot micro blogging client
by Rahul Sundaram
Hi
I got annoyed with the slow development of Pino for the 0.3 rewrite
(only a single developer and identi.ca support is broken) and Gwibber
development seems apparently stagnated too and I heard the upstream
development has switched platforms as well. Looking for replacement, I
bumped into hotot which I have been using for a while and I have
packaged and built it for for Rawhide and Fedora 15
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/hotot-0.9.5-3.20110331hg.fc15,pyw...
Hotot is under active development and somewhere near the alpha state,
the UI is pretty nice and functional. While I am not advocating a swap
of defaults yet, I would ask desktop SIG folks to take a look. I would
like to hear feedback from users as well.

GDM and Locked screen password dialog theme.
by Jóhann B. Guðmundsson
Currently the GDM theme and Locked screen password dialog are out of
place with the general theme of the Gnome-Shell.
Any news when they get updated to the new theme and look?
NTH it in before we release the beta.

Where to put release notes for existing F15 testers?
by Bastien Nocera
The screen idle timeout changed units (from minutes to seconds) without
the key name being changed.
So if you ever changed the screen idle delay, you'll get a screensaver
starting after a few seconds.
Where should I put a release note to mention this change?
Cheers
