include LibreOffice by default
by Kamil Paral
I would like to bring your attention to this bug report:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=880653
Since you're the maintainers of Fedora Desktop spin, could you please put your opinion into that bug report? I believe there is no reason to have LibreOffice on the DVD and not install it by default. It just wastes user bandwidth (it has to be downloaded from the Internet later) and time. Office suite is something that 99% of users need. Also it is a regression from Fedora 17.
A related thing is the question of LibreOffice on LiveCD. We were not able to put it there in the past because of the space constraints. But in Fedora 18 the target size went from 700 MB to 1 GB. We can now have it and install it by default for everyone using LiveCDs (probably much larger user base than DVD users). The only required action is to modify the relevant file in spin-kickstarts and send the patch upstream. Thoughts?

Gnome desktop after software update
by Harry van Rijn
After I made a software update for Fedora 17, the Gnome desktop has
changed afterwards.
In my previous desktop there was a favourites bar, an Activities item
and so on.
Now this all disappeared and I have the 'classical' desktop with an
'Applications' and 'Locations' item.
I want the prevuous desktop with the favourites, Activites ... back.
How?

Shotwell replaced?
by Bastien Nocera
Heya,
It looks like shotwell isn't on the LiveCD anymore. Is it intentional
for F18? If so, I'd need to modify shared-mime-info to use whatever the
new image viewer is.

Gnome 3.6: hibernating and lid settings
by Ankur Sinha
Hi folks,
I see that the lid closing settings have been removed from the tweak
tool. Unfortunately, my system doesn't suspend properly, and I rely
completely on hibernate currently :( (Bug filed here[1]).
I was wondering if there are command line methods to:
- set my lid closing event to hibernate
- hibernate my system from gnome (without having to login as root and
use systemctl hibernate)
I understand that this isn't as per the design intent for gnome3, but as
you can see, a broken suspend makes this a special case scenario.
