Hey, as every cycle, we have a size problem with the desktop spin:
So, we need to do the usual excercise and cut stuff until it fits.
In addition to that, we will have a new application installer in F20
( https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/AppInstaller ), which will
allow us to properly present and feature applications that are not yet
installed. For that reason, the designers working on the app installer,
Ryan Lerch and Allan Day, have proposed that we don't install
transmission, simple-scan and gnome-photos by default anymore, and
instead feature them prominently in the app installer.
Unless there's strong opposition, I'll drop those three from the
kickstart file, and we can reevaluate the size issue on Monday.
So I know like many problems this type of thing will go away once
gnome-software is a useful mechanism to install applications and we
don't need to have a massive pile of apps in comps, but:
It's really catastrophic to install Boxes by default in virtual machines
because it drags in libvirt which sets up a guest network at the default
192.168.122 mask which means your networking doesn't work until you
either reconfigure the host or the guest:
So...Boxes seems specialized enough to be a secondary installation. Can
we do that, since the alternative is dubious hacks at the libvirt level?
This just came in on the Fedora users list.

Sorry for the kick-in-the-ass message, but
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=955779 has received just
about zero developer feedback, despite being a pretty damn major problem
in the F19 release. I've poked various people to try and get them to
look at it, on IRC and via the bug, with no success, so now I'm trying
Basically, quite a lot of people with non-Shell-capable graphics
hardware (or "hardware", in the case of VMs) report that they can't get
from GDM to Shell. They should be getting llvmpipe rendering of both GDM
and Shell, but at some point in the handoff from one to the other,
everything goes sideways.
They can log in from KDM or LightDM (i.e. a non-accelerated DM) to Shell
