Graphical artifacts during GDM login
by Michael Schwendt
This is still an issue with F22, and I'd like a hint on where to report
it. Which component? Different video adapters are affected. For me it's
ATI Radeon.
After logging in via GDM, lots of small rectangular areas appear at
the bottom of the screen until GNOME Shell apears. They are filled
with what seems to be old contents from the video memory. It doesn't
look pretty, because it looks like corruption.

Lock screen wallpaper
by Michael Catanzaro
Hi,
For the past couple of releases we have defaulted to a Fedora desktop
background alongside the upstream GNOME lockscreen wallpaper. I do like
the upstream lock screen background, but I'd prefer if it would match
the desktop background by default, instead of having two wallpapers
that were clearly designed separately and not intended to be used
together. Any opposition to using the Fedora background for the lock
screen as well? This means the art would be the same for both, unless
the Fedora background folks come up with a different wallpaper for the
lock screen.
Also, a question: *where* does this setting exist? I was expecting a
gschema override in gsettings-desktop-schemas, or maybe a patch to
gnome-backgrounds, but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks! I think the only icon we are missing is devassistant. Any
chance you would be able to take care of that one? If we only have one
app missing an icon on release day, that is OK, but it would be dandy
if we could get to that last one.
I will try to handle these using Jakub's icons:
Boxes
Install to Hard Drive
LibreOffice Calc
LibreOffice Draw
LibreOffice Impress
LibreOffice Writer

Instant Messaging in Fedora Workstation
by Jiri Eischmann
Hi,
Empathy, which is our default IM client, has been dead upstream for some
time, so I'd like to start a discussion about what instant messaging
experience should look like in Fedora Workstation.
I've already written two blog posts about it. The goal of the first one
was to describe the situation and collect input from users:
https://eischmann.wordpress.com/2015/04/19/instant-messaging-in-fedora-wo...
The second one already works with user feedback from two surveys:
https://eischmann.wordpress.com/2015/04/24/instant-messaging-in-fedora-wo...
It pretty much comes down to a question if we want to build a well
integrated multi-protocol client (continuing with Empathy/Pidgin, or
starting GNOME Chat) or if we should give it up and embrace all those
popular, unfortunately mostly closed services (Skype, Messenger,
Hangouts, Telegram...) and make them as integrated in the desktop as
possible. The latter would probably clash a bit with one of our 4
foundation - freedom.
