Hi Owen, Rex, Paul,

My name is Geoff Marr and I am currently a RH employee working as a member of Fedora QA. I have been in this position for (about) three years, since May 2016, and I know I've worked with some of you, if at least indirectly. I realize you're looking for someone outside of RH, but I would like to submit my credentials as I am especially interested in the current direction that Fedora Workstation is moving, particularly where Silverblue fits into the Fedora ecosystem. I spent quite a bit of time in 2017-2018 getting to know the Atomic Workstation, so a lot of the nuances of Silverblue are familiar to me. I have also taken an interest in the Fedora Workstaton Electronics Lab spin, although it hasn't been updated in years... I originally came from the hardware side of things (ARM, embedded, etc) and I know of several people who would be interested in using the Electronics Spin if it included some packages that are more up to date. All this to say, I'm interested in fulfilling the role and getting more plugged into the Workstation community. If you need more information, or if there is a more formal application, I'd be happy to oblige. :)

Thanks,
Geoff Marr

Hi Owen and all,

I would be interested in participating in the Workstation Working Group.

During my nearly 20 years of using and developing FOSS, I have seen many changes
and the requirements of the user and developer change when it comes to
distribution choice. The workstation is my choice when using fedora and to be
allowed to help in shaping its future would be very welcome and honour.

I come from a stand point of interest in fedora workstation for business,
voluntary groups and social enterprises. There are other use cases I know of and
new ones that I would like to explore in the future.

I am currently preparing computing courses to deliver myself to Horton Housing
Association clients at their Bradford training centre here in the UK. These
clients come from a variety of backgrounds, which include homelessness, drug,
alcohol issues and other complex needs. Just to be clear here... I am a
recovering alcoholic myself, one that no longer drinks at all.

Do not work for Red Hat. :-D

While a GNOME user, a fedora co-maintainer for gnome-maps and do bits upstream,
I am not overly involved with the GNOME desktop and see merit in other libraries
and desktop application offerings. Always have an open mind.

I have begun to watch the 'fedora-workstation' group on pagure and am now am
receiving emails on all activity. This just adds a few to the mountain of
RHEL/CentOS, fedora and upstream projects I already receive.

I have the ability and freedom to perform the tasks as stated in the main email.

Thank you reading and if asked to become part of the group, it would be an
honour.

Regards

Phil
