Hi,
Just wondering if there is still a simple way to change default applications in Fedora in the interface. In the past (a long time ago IIRC), it was possible to do this via the nautilus "open with..." dialog, but it seems that this isn't possible anymore.
I do know it is possible to change the major default applications (Web Browser, Mail Client, Image Viewer, etc) in the details screen in the control center, but i am after the ability to, say, set Inkscape as my default SVG application rather than EOG. I also know that it is possible to change the mimetype manually in /home/rlerch/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list , but just wondering if there is still a way for users to change this without having to edit config files.
If this doesnt exist anymore, would this be suitable functionality to propose for the Tweak Tool?
cheers, ryanlerch

It's still in nautilus, right-click Properties->Open With.

Yes, that is still there, but what i can't see there is a way to set an Application as the default for SVG, That dialog allows me to open it in Inkscape, but i want to be able set inkscape as the default for the SVG mimetype.

Click the "set as default" button.

Ah, ok. Didnt know there was an "open with" tab in properties. I was in "Right Click -> Open With" where i thought the behaviour was.
got it now.
thanks for the help.

If you go Right Click -> Open With there is indeed no such option.
If you go Right Click -> Properties -> Open With there is a "Set as default" button. At least I see it here (Nautilous 3.14).

Yeah, this is a minor design problem; obviously you would expect to find this setting under Open With, not Properties.
Anyway, it works in F20 but is borked in F21: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=738370

Yeah, this might be a good candidate for a user test -- to see if where people expect this behaviour.
