koji cert renewal reminder

Greetings.
This email is a reminder of some information around koji certs.
- koji certs are good for 6 months, then you must get a new one. You
should use the 'fedora-packager-setup' or 'fedora-cert' command line
tools to do so, you can no longer use the web interface to download
one directly.
- You can check when your cert expires by running 'fedora-cert -v'
- You can only have one valid cert at a time. If you need to use it on
multiple machines you should copy that cert to them, if you get a new
cert the previous one is automatically revoked.
- Your cert is stored in ~/.fedora.cert

Gnome 3.8 Test Day on Thursday

Rawhide Bugzilla Rebase Warning

Hi,
as decided on yesterday's (2013-03-13) FESCo meeting [1], we are going to restart
the Rawhide Bugzilla Rebase process [2]. Historically, it was tight to the Branch
day, but to give you more time to adjust your bugs, it will happen no sooner than
in one week from now - it means 2013-03-21.
We will be automatically changing the version for most rawhide bugs to Fedora 19.
This will result in regular bugs reported against rawhide during the Fedora 19
development cycle being changed to version '19' instead of their current
assignment, 'rawhide'. This is to align with the branching of Fedora 19 from
rawhide and to more accurately tell where in the lineage of releases the bug
was last reported. As the process wasn't followed for several releases, more
bugs than the Fedora 19 development cycle will be hit, but this will lead to
Bugzilla cleanup once Fedora 19 will hit End of Life.
Note that this procedure does not apply to bugs that are open for the 'Package
Review' component or bugs that have the ''FutureFeature'' or ''Tracking''
keywords set. They will stay open as rawhide bugs indefinitely.
If your Tracker bug does not contain ''Tracking'' keyword, please update it, so
the bug is not accidentally closed.
If you do not want your bugs changed to version '19', add the ''FutureFeature''
keyword.

[Call to Arms] Fedora 19 Test Days starts this week

Hi Fedora users, developers and friends!
today Fedora 19 was branched from Rawhide. That means testing season begins now and will continue till Fedora 19 Final Release, which may be (or may not be) on 2013-06-25. Please, fasten your seatbelts, fire up your virtual or baremetal machines and enjoy this crash testing ride with us.

Before Alpha will (or won't) be ready on 2013-04-16, we have prepared some Test Days[0] for you. Starting this Thursday with KDE 4.10 [1] with one major innovation. You are invited to try how new KDE 4.10 [2] stuff not only using Fedora 19 Live test images, but also from updates-testing repository on your current Fedora stable installation, including both Fedora 18 and Fedora 17 releases. For first time, you can test new version of whole KDE platform before it rolls up and in as an stable update for your Fedora!

Well, you may already know about and use Bodhi[3] with karma voting process. But Test Day provides an opportunity to actually talk to developers before KDE 4.10 reaches stable updates and interactively report, explore, debug and fix your issues (or at least find workarounds for the time being). Together we can make this update less painful for everyday Fedora KDE users.

f19 mass branching

F19 has been branched, please be sure to do a git pull --rebase to pick
up the new branch, additionally rawhide/f20 has had inheritance cut off
from previous releases, so this means that anything you do for f19 you
also have to do in the master branch and do a build there.

Fedora 19 Feature/Branch Freeze coming in one week

Hi!
As time flows really fast, we are getting closer to another important
milestones for Fedora 19 [1] on 2013-03-12 (as agreed by FESCo):
* Feature Freeze -- Planning & Development Ends
* Branch Freeze -- Branch Fedora 19 from Rawhide
Feature Freeze is in one week from now, please keep in mind that
it's the time when your features has to be in *substantially
complete and in a testable state!*. See the Feature Freeze policy [2].
Please update your feature pages - with the best percentage done
"estimate" - 80%+ and last updated field (do not update Features List,
it's automatically generated now). If you're *at risk* of not making
the Feature Freeze, please update your feature page accordingly
and let me know. The community can help a lot, communication is the
key.
For Branch Freeze Policy, take a look on [3] and also on the list
of orphaned packages and packages that have failed to build since
Fedora 17, as these are going to be blocked on Branch date [4].
The full Fedora 19 schedule moved to a new, program manager neutral
place, see [5]. Please, let me know if you need any change in the
schedule.
