New infinote / gobby collaborative document server available
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
For many years Fedora Infrastructure has hosted a collaborative editor
server based on the 'sobby' server/protocol. We have finally finished
upgrading this service to use the new 'infinote' server/protocol, and
it's ready for community use.
Please See:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Gobby
for more information and access details.
We hope this will be a valuable service to the
Fedora Development Community.

SCM processing changes for new packages and branches
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings,
For the entire history of Fedora adding new packages, requesting new
branches for existing packages and other similar requests have been
done via copying and pasting a template into a bugzilla bug, where it
was scraped by a script to process the requests.
With recent additions to pkgdb2, we are now able to replace this error
prone and manual process.
I've created: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageDB_admin_requests
with further information. Basically requests now can be made directly
in pkgdb (optionally pulling information from bugzilla).
We have modified our processing script that checks for requests in
bugzilla to make a note about the new process and unset the old
fedora-cvs flag.
Note: The new process remains manual for new packages, so there will
still be a delay between when you make the request and when it is
processed for them. FMN will announce you when the request is processed
and the branch is created.
Please let us know at:
https://github.com/fedora-infra/pkgdb2/issues
or
https://fedorahosted.org/pkgdb2/
if you run into any issues with the process.

rawhide buildroot creation changes
by Dennis Gilmore
Hi all,
as of this morning US time we have changed the way rawhide buildroots are
created in koji. rawhide is now using dnf to install the packages into the
buildroot. this means that in f24 and on dnf will be used to create the
buildroot. as well as manage the updates on your system.
We will not be making the same change to f22 or f23 in koji, yum will
continue to create the buildroot there. please report to Release Engineering
[1][2][3] any issue you encounter as a result of this change.
Regards
Dennis
