This is still not fixed? I warned a week ago.

I think you mean bug #363831. :)
Bug #363381 is: "gnome-python2-gtkmozembed needs to be rebuilt against
firefox-2.0.0.8-1.fc7"

Fedora 8 on Asus S5A; asus_laptop parameters and wireless enable/disable function key
by Trond Danielsen
Hi,
My laptop has a wireless enable/disable function key, which previously
only disabled the wireless network and it could only be enabled by
rebooting into Windows. In Fedora 8 I can finally both enable and
disable the network by adding the parameter wapf=4 to modprobe
(modprobe asus_laptop wapf=4). This means that I can finally wipe out
my Windows partition. Horray! :)
My question is very simple: Which component should I file the bug against?
Regard,

How to set %vendor in mock?
by Ralf Corsepius
Hi,
in the past, I used to set up %vendor in mock by adding
...
config_opts['macros'] += '%vendor VENDOR'
...
to customized mock *.cfgs.
This stopped working with FC7's recent upgrade to mock-0.8.x:
# mock --configdir=/foo/etc/mock -r fedora-7-i386-test init
INFO: mock suid wrapper version 0.8.4
ERROR: unsupported operand type(s) for +=: 'dict' and 'str'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/libexec/mock.py", line 333, in <module>
main(retParams)
File "/usr/libexec/mock.py", line 249, in main
execfile(cfg)
File "/foo/etc/mock/fedora-7-i386-test.cfg", line 7, in <module>
config_opts['macros'] += '%vendor VENDOR'
TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +=: 'dict' and 'str'
Any ideas?

Re: rpmbuild stops with debugedit error on F8
by Roland McGrath
Ok, it's simply as it says. /rpmbuild/build is 15 chars and /usr/src/debug
is 14 chars. That's just a bad choice for the directory name. In koji
builds go under /builddir/build/BUILD (21 chars), so there is no problem.
The default for vanilla rpmbuild is /usr/src/redhat/BUILD (21 chars).
It's a technical limitation of the debugedit program that, like the error
message says, the length of the top build directory name has to be 14 chars
(to match /usr/src/debug), or more than 15 chars. It does a very limited
kind of rewriting of the very complex DWARF formats, so there has to be
enough room in the existing string table for the new directory name.
Making it able to cope in the general case opens huge cans of worms, and is
absolutely not going to happen any time soon (or ever in that program as it
exists today).
Suffice it to say it is far, far more work than is justified to avoid the
arcane but trivial caveat that the base directory name used for builds must
be at least 16 chars long.
Thanks,
Roland

KDE logout options with F8
by Stefan Grosse
Hi,
I installed F8 Test3 some time ago and since then I am on rawhide. I am using
KDE and ever since the installation I miss the shutdown and hibernation
options (buttons) in the KDE log out dialog. There is only the end current
session button which is leading me to back to the login screen from where I
then can do the shutdown. Of course the shell shutdown and kshutdown both
work as alternative.
I would really appreciate to get those buttons back. Is it because of the
rawhide packages or is there something messed up on my notebook? (What could
I do in the latter case?)
Furthermore I sometimes observe for some seconds the standard gnome gdm login
screen (the blue one with the yellow flower) appearing after I optioned for
shutdown at the infinity (kdm?) login - ...
Beside this I must say its really nice how everything works!
Regards
Stefan
