appliance-creator: how can I shorten the grub timeout in kickstart?
by Matthew Miller
This perplexing to me. In my %post section, I tried both writing
"GRUB_TIMEOUT=0" to /etc/default/grub and using sed to replace "set
timeout=5" in grub2.cfg. I even put a call to grub2-mkconfig to re-write the
config file after doing those things.
But on boot, grub.cfg file always contains timeout=5. Why / how is this
happening?
I'm using appliance-creator, in case that's doing anything silly.

F18 updates break pungi-created media
by Jos Vos
Hi,
When I create a DVD image with pungi with an own package selection,
the image works fine and starts the graphical installer when I only
use the F18 release repository. But when I also add the F18 updates
repository, the graphical installer doesn't start anymore and at that
moment I get a login prompt. Installing via VNC works fine in either
case.
When I login at the login prompt, I see a "[Xorg] <defunct>" with
"python anaconda" as parent.and in /tmp/anaconda.log I see
"X startup failed, falling back to text mode" (which isn't true,
no fallback is done).
Any suggestions about how solve this problem and/or how to find out
what is exactly causing it?
I'm testing the DVD images with KVM on F18 and RHEL6 (same behavior).
Thx,

Subject: Thursday is Spice Test Day!
Hi All,
The day has come to test Spice! The project got several new features,
half of them developed almost exclusively by the community. There are
several test cases on the Test Day page that allow you to try these
features:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2013-05-30_Spice
if you have any questions, ask on IRC channels (#fedora-test-day @
Freenode, #spice @ gimpnet)
Happy testing!

Daily package ownership changes?
by Pierre-Yves Chibon
Dear all,
Ian Weller and Ralf Bean have pushed to producation datagrepper two days
ago [1]. This is basically a public API to query messages that went on
the fedmsg bus thus given a way to make some statistics and provide some
information.
I have been playing with it with the idea that not all packages that are
orphaned are actually announced on this list. Using datagrepper we can
easily retrieve this information.
Would it be of interest to have a daily mail with the ownership changes
that happened over the last 24h (or make it bi-daily and 48h or
weekly...)?
I put together something quickly [2] to give an idea of what it could be
(see below).
Let me know what you think,
Pierre

python-espeak
by Eduardo Mayorga Téllez
Hi all,
I have the intention to pack a Python program that has python-espeak
as dependency. I just found espeak at repos. Why is not it there?

New LibRaw in rawhide
by Jon Ciesla
I've just updated LibRaw to 0.15.2. This is a soname change, so I've also
rebuilt:
entangle
evas-generic-loaders
luminance-hdr
nomacs
oyranos
shotwell
These all rebuilt locally on the new LibRaw with no modifications except
shotwell, which required a minor patch to remove references to a deprecated
piece of the the LibRaw API. I've tested the patched shotwell and it seems
OK so far.
