Rebuild of Boost dependees
by Petr Machata
Hi there,
as some of you may have noticed, the biannual Boost rebuild has been
underway since Saturday! So far about 100 packages have been rebuilt.
I'll appreciate any help that I can get with resolving the current
failures. Just ping me on IRC (_petr) so that we don't duplicate
effort. Currently the following are the failures that I know about
(with task numbers in case you wish to inspect):
C or C++ errors:
pcl 5663101 error: 'sqrt' is not a member of 'Eigen::internal'
pokerth 5663090 gcrypt.h: No such file or directory
minion 5663196 ICE
zarafa 5663602 C++ errors
openlierox 5663123 'LUA_GLOBALSINDEX' was not declared in this scope
Bugs apparently related to unversioned docfiles change:
CGAL 5663106 Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found:
snapper 5665599 Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found
stdair 5663142 Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found
fatrat 5672534 Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found
-- Frankly, I'm confused by those. Fatrat and CGAL don't mention
version in any way--they simply use %{_docdir} and %doc. stdair does
mention version, but the build failure complains about stuff
installed by %doc. What gives?
Bugs apparently related to ARM:
spring 5664257 unrecognized argument in option '-mtune=generic'
ceph 5663470 ARM unsupported? (gperftools-devel)
mongodb 5663581 ARM unsupported? (gperftools-devel)
0ad 5663431 ARM unsupperted? (nvidia-texture-tools or somethig)
Assorted errors:
hugin 5663415 POD document had syntax errors at /usr/bin/pod2man line 69.
python-tag 5663153 urllib2.URLError: <urlopen error [Errno -2] Name or service not known>
polybori 5663365 SCONS: internal error in regular expression engine
Unresolved deps:
bookkeeper 5663346 Package: xbean-3.13-2.fc20.noarch (build) Requires: eclipse-equinox-osgi
airrac 5668958 depends on stdair
airsched 5669057 depends on stdair
sevmgr 5668947 depends on stdair
simfqt 5668967 depends on stdair
travelccm 5669008 depends on stdair
fawkes 5669050 depends on pcl
mrpt 5669093 depends on pcl
iwhd 5668878 depends on mongodb
condor 5668979 depends on mongodb
openscad 5668923 depends on CGAL
crrcsim 5669040 depends on CGAL
There's also this:
libreoffice 5668888 BOOST_NOEXCEPT
which is apparently boost-related, but I was unsuccessful in reproducing
this locally, and am leaving it aside in favor of lower-hanging fruit ;)
Thanks,
PM

Heads up: libcolord ABI bump coming up
by Richard Hughes
I'm about to release and build a new colord. This has all the
pre-1.0.* deprecated functions in libcolord removed, and hence bumps
ABI. The affected packages are:
colord-gtk
colorhug-client
colorhug-tools
control-center
gnome-color-manager
gnome-settings-daemon
gtk3
simple-scan
The DBus interface remains the same, so other projects that do not use
the glib library need no action. I'll take care of rebuilding the
above packages myself, unless anyone has any objections. Thanks,
Richard

Non-responsive maintainer: Dave Ludlow (adsllc)
by Sandro Mani
Hi,
I've filed bug #983759 [1] concerning updating mingw-proj to the latest
version and enabling the mingw64 package two weeks ago, but have
received no response since. This is blocking my review request #984248
[2]. I've tried contacting adsllc directly via email, but have received
no reply. fedora_active_user returns

Orphaning Docky
by Lukas Zapletal
Hello all,
although package Docky was lot of work for me (licensing patching etc) I
am no longer using it and last two releases were very unstable. There
are couple of bugzillas reported mainly because of gconf migration.
"""
Docky is an advanced shortcut bar that sits at the edges of your screen.
It provides easy access to some of the files, folders and applications
on your computer, displays which applications are currently running,
holds windows in their minimized state and more.
Docky is written in mono.

Please ping me if you are interested to maintain the package.

Relying on $PATH in RPM scriplets
by Lukas Zapletal
Hey,
since we provide cloud images starting with Fedora 19, I noticed that
cloud-init, which is used in these, does not execute user shell scripts
with $PATH set properly which is causing issues for packages that does
not provide full paths in scriplets.
I know we have some examples which relies on $PATH set to at least
/usr/bin and /sbin, for example:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:UsersAndGroups
I am searching for page that says one can rely on the $PATH. Cannot find
it.
Thanks!

Hash: SHA1
hi all,
I have imported ARM into primary and enabled armv7hl in the arches to
be built. right now the KDE stack is not entirely built and brought in
due to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=988114 as soon as it
is resolved we will get everything fixed and brought in. at that point
arm will be added to the nightly composes.

How to support new boards?
by Brendan Long
Is there a wiki page on supporting new boards? I have a BeagleBone Black
that I'd prefer to use Fedora on, but the instructions on the wiki all
seem to be about how to install pre-made images, not how to create new
images. Is there instructions for how to do this anywhere?

F20 System Wide Change: Visible Cloud
by Jaroslav Reznik
= Proposed System Wide Change: Visible Cloud =
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/VisibleCloud
Change owner(s): Matthew Miller <mattdm at fedoraproject org>
With Fedora 19's First Class Cloud Images feature [1], we have Amazon EC2 and
downloadable cloud images (in qcow2 and raw.xz format) produced and released
together with the traditional desktop installer and and livecd images. Now,
let's go to the next level and present the cloud images as equal options.
== Detailed description ==
This involves three key changes. They are not significant changes to other
packages, but since this has implications for the distribution as a whole, I
thought it best considered as bigger than a self-contained change.
1. Refactoring of the Fedora web site to put the cloud image on equal footing
with the desktop image download. The new F19 cloud images page [2] is very
nice thanks to the hard work of the web team, but unfortunately, in order to
find it, one has to go down into the cellar, into a disused lavatory with a
sign on the door saying Beware of the Leopard. Let's put it on display in the
metaphorical front lobby.
2. Creating specific release criteria and tests for basic cloud image
functionality in, at least, Amazon EC2 and OpenStack. (Tests for smaller
public cloud services could be added once those services gain the ability for
us to provide official images directly. Tests for Eucalyptus and other IaaS
software could be added as well.)
3. Building images in Koji using virtualization and Anaconda, rather than
using a chroot-based appliance-creator. This will ensure that the cloud image
is more in line with The Real Fedora.
== Scope ==
Proposal owner: Coordination; working with web designers and documentation
writers to develop the new presentation, working with QA to develop criteria
and tests, and working with release engineering to land the changes to image
building. I plan to be actively involved in all of these.
Other developers: This will probably require a overhaul of the Get Fedora
website, as that is current primarily focused on the desktop download.
Release engineering: Yes, Jay Greguske, Andrew Thomas, and I are working on
the improvements to the image build system and coordinating with Dennis
Gilmore.
Policies and guidelines: As noted, QA guidelines will need to be updated.
