package name and spec name missmatch
by Muneendra Kumar M
Hi All,
An rpm package has been created by name fctxpd.
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/fctxpd
But my spec file name and the name field in my spec file is fc_txptd.
And my SRPM also has the name with fc_txptd.
And I push the SRPM with fc_txptd because of which fedpkg build is failing.
fedpkg import PATH_TO_SRPM
git commit -m "Initial import (#XXXXXX)."
git push
fedpkg build
Do I need to create a new SRPM with fctxpd and push the same again to git.
Will this resolve my issue.
Any help here will be great.
Regards,
Muneendra.

Interesting, so the package IS in the mirrors, but metadata doesn't track
it. If I disable fedora-modular repo I get no sign of the update nor the
previous version which is in stable:
# dnf list skychart --enablerepo=updates-testing Ultima verifica della

How do I remove GLIBCXX_ASSERTIONS?
by Steven A. Falco
The upstream KiCAD project has requested that I remove GLIBCXX_ASSERTIONS from the Fedora package, as described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kicad/+bug/1838448
What is the best way to do that? I can add "%undefine _hardened_build" (which I am testing now) but I think that will remove other hardening features that I might want to leave enabled.

Sponsorship request
by David Kaufmann
Hi!
I'm looking for a sponsor to get rss2email back into fedora (it's
orphaned and retired right now, as it's been FTBFS too long)
I've already got the package reviewed (bug 1740389), but forgot the
FE-NEEDSPONSOR dependency, so I'm looking for a sponsor via this list.
Technically this is also a self-introduction, as I've never introduced
myself on this list. I've been part of the fedora security team since
sometime in 2015 and am subscribed to this list since sometime in 2016,
but it was never necessary for me to maintain packages myself, and I
didn't really participate in the discussions.
I'm currently student and teach network security as study assistant.
Next to that I'm working as a system administrator in a research group
running almost exclusively fedora as operating system. :)
Thanks,
Astra

[HEADS UP] Fedora 32 Python 3.8 rebuilds have started in a side tag
by Miro Hrončok
Hello, in order to deliver Python 3.8, we are running a coordinated rebuild in a
side tag.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Python3.8
If you see a "Rebuild for Python 3.8" commit in your package, please don't
rebuild it in regular rawhide.
If you need to, please let me know, so we can coordinate.
If you'd like to update the package, you should be able to build it in the side
tag via:
on branch master:
$ fedpkg build --target=f32-python
Note that it will take a while before the essential packages are rebuilt, so
don't except all your dependencies to be available right away.
Thanks. Let us know if you have any questions.
