This sounds great. Can it be used to generate live CDs? (I'm
thinking of course of the virt-p2v live CD which is currently
generated with livecd-creator).

No, it is install media, we have other code paths and the ability to make
lives in koji today, and have for a long time now. livecd-creator is
deprectaed and being replaced with livemedia-creator
