It was not ssh-keygen, but gnome-keyring:

/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --daemonize --login

Just checked my friends F24 and it is running there. It should be
started by the

     /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-ssh.desktop

Check that you have the file in place, the gnome-keyring installed.


Weird. It's working now. It was odd, because gnome-keyring-daemon was running at the time, and the gpg-agent it provides was also working, but the ssh-agent part was not. But now, they're both working. So... I don't know what happened.
