Good to know! I would otherwise have downgraded to Fedora 34. Now I don't have to find out for myself the hard way that that wouldn't have been very much of a solution.

I will try one of the Gnome mailing lists as well, see if we can find some people that are able to fix this.

This happened to me also with Fedora 34. I switched to
gnome-text-editor's flatpak as gedit replacement and, although is not
a complete replacement, it has some nice features.
