The latest f35 kernel build has enabled simpledrm
$ grep _SIMPLE /boot/config-5.16.1-200.fc35.x86_64
CONFIG_SYSFB_SIMPLEFB=y
CONFIG_MEDIA_TUNER_SIMPLE=m
CONFIG_DRM_SIMPLEDRM=y
CONFIG_SND_SOC_SIMPLE_AMPLIFIER=m
CONFIG_SND_SOC_SIMPLE_MUX=m
CONFIG_SND_SIMPLE_CARD_UTILS=m
CONFIG_SND_SIMPLE_CARD=m
CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_SIMPLE=m
# CONFIG_IIO_SIMPLE_DUMMY is not set
Indeed it does, though kernel build is not kernel update. It will be
a good 2 weeks before 5.16 kernels are offered as an official update.
The point is to get more testing on simpledrm, so I plan to keep it on
at least through the first test week kernels to get some feedback on
it.
