This whole process is unnecessary. You're basically asking for
autoremove behavior to occur as part of a distro-sync action.
Autoremove only removes leaf packages which were installed as dependencies
of user-installed packages, but are no longer required. So it is a
completely different thing and is not applicable in this case.
