BTW, bonus follow-up to this: as part of researching the background
of
polkit, I noticed that we never actually entirely got done moving off
usermode :( There are still over a dozen packages in the distro that
require it:
anaconda-live-0:36.15-1.fc36.x86_64
beesu-0:2.7-40.fc35.x86_64
chkrootkit-0:0.55-3.fc35.x86_64
hddtemp-0:0.3-0.49.beta15.fc35.x86_64
mate-system-log-0:1.26.0-1.fc35.x86_64
mock-0:2.16-1.fc36.noarch
pure-ftpd-0:1.0.49-11.fc36.x86_64
setuptool-0:1.19.11-23.fc35.x86_64
subscription-manager-0:1.29.21-1.fc36.x86_64
system-config-rootpassword-0:1.99.6-25.fc35.noarch
system-switch-java-0:1.1.8-6.fc35.noarch
system-switch-mail-0:2.0.1-14.fc35.noarch
usermode-gtk-0:1.114-3.fc35.x86_64
vpnc-consoleuser-0:0.5.3-42.svn550.fc35.x86_64
xawtv-0:3.107-5.fc35.x86_64
the tracker bug for the conversion is still hanging out at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=502765 , never quite got
closed. Don't suppose anyone wants to see whether this could be pushed
over the line...?
Most of those appear to be legacy and shouldn't be parts of key
blocker artifacts. I'm surprised that things like subscription-manager
hasn't been moved but in the Fedora context it's basically irrelevant.
Interestingly I fixed/cleaned up usbview recently which also used it.
