I guess you are being sarcastic but assuming incompetence is slightly better than assuming malice but the best option is to just ask why that is in the case. In this situation though, we already have a explanation and it is just a different design decision. I suppose you won't be happy with it unless it is the same behavior as KDE but we already have one KDE and that is enough.
