Is there any hope of running the awesome X11 window manager [1,2] on Fedora 42? I am presently testing Fedora 42 Beta. I have been limping along with awesome through Fedora 41, and it always worked until now.
I submitted a bug report with some details:

Is there some kind of compatibility package awesome should depend on, or is running awesome no longer possible with Fedora Workstation?

You need to switch to another display manager, as GDM no longer supports X11 sessions.
One option is SDDM:
$ sudo dnf install sddm $ sudo systemctl enable --force sddm $ sudo systemctl reboot
