Hi all,<br>since I recently submitted my package for sshguard [1] for review [2], <br>this is probably a good time to introduce myself (some of you might <br>remember me from the packaging list). I'm also looking for a sponsor, <br>assuming the package is positively reviewed.<br><br>I"m Christopher, 35yr old, from Germany originally but living in the <br>Netherlands. I"m a scientist and write mostly octave &amp; some python code <br>for data analysis, so I'd consider myself more of a script-wrangler than <br>a developer, but I follow - and occasionally submit patches to - a <br>number of other open source projects, including sshguard.<br><br>About the package:<br>sshguard is a log-monitoring service that blocks brute-force attempts on <br>common services, similar to fail2ban. It"s not as freely configurable as <br>the latter, but supports most common services out of the box and <br>requires little to no configuration.
