If it is not going to be retired, then why would we want to kill python2-*
subpackages throughout the distribution for no reason?
By orphaning, I mean:
1. Work with users and maintainers of dependent packages to either
remove their dependencies or to share/take over maintainership
2. Drop the package if no one stepped up
This is the first step.
