Thanks Haïkel. I'll take you up on that if needed, but assuming I don't hear from him soon, I'll put in a request to take over the package. Sphinx sees a lot of development, so we need to make sure we keep the latest maintained in rawhide. The current version is from March 2015.

I see builds from him june, 8 in Koji so he shouldn't be far away.
Meanwhile, you can send me your patch or add it in the bugzilla and
I'll apply it in rawhide as provenpackager.
