There's a set of "pidgin" updates in the needsign repo, which _would_
break this if it were released.

  gaim-gaym is already broken (and has been since gaim-2.0.0-0.31.beta6); 
this isn't really anything to worry about.  A replacement is in the works, 
too.

Seems Warren has removed old gaim plugin packages yesterday silently
without updating the local metadata, since now [after the push] they are
gone from the repository, although I could still see them on the public
master prior to the next sync:

Sorry I should really have stated the intention here explicitly. 
gaim-gaym has been broken for *far* too long, but at the same time it 
wasn't truly orphaned.  Given the unusual circumstances I had to take 
this unusual measure which did do the right thing when repo was built 
again... but it was wrong of me to not say anything about it.

Right, that's an unexpected, sudden, backwards (and currently forwards) 
incompatible change, hopefully not there to stay.
